Since Maldon I've been itching to try the kayak sailing rig again. Quite a hefty load to wrestle onto the bus/underground/train/ferry/train, but eventually I made it.
Conditions weren't perfect (force 6 gusting to 8!) but got her out eventually and finally completed a sea trial. The mast foot proved sturdy enough this time but it quickly became evident further changes would be needed.
The leeboards shifted out of position early on, which I hope can be fixed by applying liquid metal to the clamps. The strong winds and waves eventually detached the bowsprit completely and loosened a section of the frame, so I will have to upgrade to some beefier aluminium profile angle brackets.
