Much as I enjoy our two-up trips, I've been yearning to return to the Alps single-handed since our first tour down to Rome. The time came this year when a couple of friends invited me down to visit them in Milan.

I took out a Subscription to MyRouteApp this year to do the planning. I've always used Google Maps in the past, but found it a bit limited. MyRouteApp let me plan an overall route, break it down into chunks, then re-merge once I'd been through the fine details. Essential if I was to cover all the best alpine roads France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria had to offer in just over a week.

Overall everything went very well, aside from one evening where I overshot my estimate and ended up atop a mountain in failing light with snow starting to fall! A fantastic trip, I hope it's not too long before the next.
